Calladita Films is an independent film production company based in Barcelona, founded by Miguel Faus in 2019.

 

It produced the feature film Calladita (2023), the world's first film financed through an innovative crowdfunding campaign using NFTs, raising over €750,000 thanks to over 600 backers worldwide. This achievement has led to Miguel Faus to being invited to speak on innovative financing at prestigious festivals and events in cities such as Cannes (Marché du Film), New York, Los Angeles, Seoul, Paris, Lisbon, London, Berlin, Brussels, Oslo, and Copenhagen, among others.

Calladita had a very successful run. During the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, it received a $100,000 post-production grant funded and awarded by Steven Soderbergh , who also served as the film's editing consultant and now has a "Presented By" credit. It premiered at the Tallinn Black Nights International Film Festival (PÖFF), an A-list festival, and in Spain, in the Official Selection (out of competition) of the Málaga Film Festival. It has also been selected and awarded at other prominent festivals such as Raindance, Sofia International Film Festival, BAFICI, and the Seattle International Film Festival.

 

The film was very well received in Spanish theaters, attracting over 20,000 viewers despite limited distribution, and its Netflix Spain premiere was one of the most successful of the year on streaming platforms, reaching number one on its opening day and accumulating 1.65 million viewers in the first three months. Calladita has also been sold to RTVE and for distribuition in several countries, and received two nominations at the 17th Gaudí Awards (Best New Director and Best Adapted Screenplay) and one nomination at the 39th Goya Awards (Best New Director).

 

Currently, Calladita Films is developing several short films, as well as two feature film projects: one in Spain and one in the USA, in co-production with the North American production companies Vanishing Angle and Decentralized Pictures.
